Municipal detailed spatial plan for the development of a tourist and recreation center in Bajerji na Verdu
The municipality of Vrhnika wants to revitalize the degraded area of abandoned clay pits of the former Kotnik brickworks in Verd and convert it into a tourist recreation center, thereby strengthening its tourist offer and recognition. The OPPN provides for the comprehensive redevelopment of the area in question. The renovation or reconstruction of existing buildings is planned, which will be used for new programs: a museum presenting the rich archaeological finds in the area in question, catering, and accommodation activities. New parking areas, a natural swimming pool with a beach, a children's playground, and a small parking area for motorhomes will be built. The areas around Bajerji will be spatially and scenically rehabilitated, footpaths will be renovated, an educational trail will be set up, and piers for fishermen, a boathouse, and observation points will be built. The planned interventions will provide both locals and visitors with a well-equipped recreation center for walking, socializing, swimming, fishing, boating, school groups, and tourists.
