Mobility plan for the renovation and extension of the Ketteja and Murna primary schools

As part of the comprehensive renovation and expansion of the Ketteja and Murna Primary School in Kodeljevo, it was also necessary to review the mobility aspect of the location, so we prepared a mobility plan for the client. The project addresses traffic management and accessibility during the extensive renovation and construction of new extensions, with the aim of ensuring safety and traffic flow in the school area.

About the project
Purpose and scope: The subject of the study is the preparation of a mobility plan, which is a key part of the project documentation for obtaining a building permit (DGD). The project includes:

  • Comprehensive renovation of existing buildings A and B.
  • New construction (extension) of two new annexes (B and C1).

The mobility plan is coordinated with the architectural solutions prepared by the design office Arhitektura Polona, Atelje za arhitekturno projektiranje d.o.o.

Location and accessibility

The school is located in the Kodeljevo neighborhood of Ljubljana, and access to the school grounds is provided from Koširjeva Street via two existing entrances. The plan envisages the preservation and optimization of access points in line with the new requirements of the expanded school complex.

Architectural and historical context
The renovation is taking place on a building with exceptional architectural heritage. The existing complex consists of:

Main building (A) and small gym (C): Built in 1961 according to the plans of renowned architect Emil Navinšek, known for his innovative school designs without corridors.

Ancillary building (D): Built in 1964.

Large gym (B): Added in 1985.

The renovation and extension project will respect the existing structure while modernizing the school for contemporary educational needs.
