Reconstruction of the state road through Vipava

The investor, the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency (DRSI), has planned extensive improvements to the R2 444/1473 Vipava–Ajdovščina state road. The project will run through the town of Vipava (from km 1+330 onwards) and includes the reconstruction of the road and the improvement of safety for all road users.

Scope of the project

Construction work will take place on the R2 444/1473 Vipava–Ajdovščina state road, specifically through the town of Vipava on the section from km 1+330 to km 1+8.0. The investor, the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency (DRSI), is planning a comprehensive renovation, which includes:

Road reconstruction: Complete replacement of the substructure, elevation correction of the road, correction of cross-sections, and arrangement of road junctions and shoulders.

Traffic safety: Installation of a new four-way intersection and arrangement of all horizontal and vertical traffic signals.

Pedestrians and cyclists: Arrangement of new, safe areas for vulnerable road users.

Municipal infrastructure: Construction of storm drains and new street lighting.

Stability measures: To ensure the stability of the terrain, the construction of two new reinforced concrete walls is planned for this section.

Study of controlling emissions at the construction site
As the construction work is taking place within a residential area, it is essential to control the impact on the environment. The study, which is an appendix to the implementation project (PZI), is based on the Regulation on the prevention and reduction of particle emissions from construction sites.

The content of the study specifies:

Organizational measures: Rules of conduct on the construction site to reduce dust.

Requirements for machinery: Use of appropriate construction machinery and transport vehicles with lower emissions.

Contractor's obligations: The contractor must strictly comply with the document. If different technology or machinery is used, the document must be amended accordingly and the same level of air protection must be ensured.

The aim of the measures is to protect the health of the inhabitants of Vipava and to reduce the impact of the construction site on air quality during intensive work.
