Project for the implementation (PZI) of the reconstruction of state roads in the settlement of Jugorje

In collaboration with the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency (DRSI), we have prepared the detailed design documentation (PZI) for the complete reconstruction of the traffic hub in Jugorje. The project focuses on the modernization of the G2-105 main road (Jugorje–Metlika) and the R2-421 regional road (Štrekljevec–Jugorje).

Project Objectives and Key Interventions

The primary goal of the investment is to enhance traffic safety, manage stationary traffic, and modernize the entire infrastructure within the settlement. Key interventions include:

  • Intersection Reconstruction: Transformation into a safe four-arm intersection, providing better visibility and traffic flow.

  • Public Transport Improvements: Installation of new bus stops on both sides of the road.

  • Passenger Infrastructure: Construction of a new rest area with a dedicated parking lot.

  • Complete Roadway Renovation: Replacement of the entire pavement structure and modernization of all utility lines (water supply, telecommunications, and low-voltage networks).

  • Safety and Lighting: New street lighting and an upgraded storm sewage system.

Geological Stability and Terrain Remediation

A geological and geomechanical survey confirmed that the area is fundamentally stable, consisting of limestone bedrock. Despite the general stability, the project addresses two specific locations:

  1. Retaining Wall Construction: A minor landslide was identified near the local road junction (km 15+270) due to a localized thick layer of clay. A new retaining wall is planned to ensure long-term slope stability.

  2. Erosion Remediation: At the beginning of the regional road section, an eroded slope will be rehabilitated. By reducing the slope gradient, applying humus, and sowing grass, we will prevent further material debris from falling onto the roadway.

Scope of Project Documentation

The project solution is supported by detailed plans and studies to ensure safe and professional execution:

  • Construction Plans: Road design, master site plan, building demolition plan, and hydro-technical report.

  • Technical Studies: Geomechanical reports, traffic management plans during construction, and environmental safety protocols.
