Project for the construction of the Vipava roundabout
Our team has prepared project documentation for a thorough reconstruction of a 500-meter section of the R2 444/1473 state road between Vipava and Ajdovščina. The planned reconstruction, which extends from kilometer 1+330 to 1+830, represents a key step towards modernizing the entrance to the town of Vipava, where the current state of infrastructure no longer meets modern traffic standards.
The main reason for the intervention is the poor condition of the road structure, which is heavily cracked and damaged by wheel tracks in places. To ensure long-term stability and safety, the project envisages a complete renovation of the asphalt and the construction of two new reinforced concrete walls to stabilize the terrain in the more demanding parts of the section.
In addition to the renovation of the road itself, the project brings significant changes to traffic dynamics. A new roundabout is planned at the entrance to Vipava, and three existing intersections will be reconstructed, including a new four-way intersection. These interventions will eliminate the current lack of visibility at some junctions and improve traffic flow.
We are placing particular emphasis on sustainable mobility and the safety of the most vulnerable road users. Along the entire route, we will build modern areas for pedestrians and cyclists, which will be adequately separated from motor traffic. The entire redevelopment will be completed with the installation of new traffic signals, the upgrade of partially arranged public lighting, and the installation of storm drains to replace the current dispersed drainage system.
