Comprehensive renovation of the Miren–Opatje selo state road
Our team prepared project documentation for an extensive upgrade of the R3-614/1047 regional road connecting the villages of Miren and Opatje selo. The project, commissioned by the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency, covers almost 6 kilometers of the route and is crucial for improving traffic safety and infrastructure in the municipality of Miren-Kostanjevica.
Overview of planned works
The main objective of the project is the comprehensive reconstruction of the road and associated infrastructure. The following interventions are planned on all subsections:
Reconstruction of the roadway: Modernization of the asphalt structure for safer traffic.
Arrangement of junctions: Safe connection of all existing individual and public roads to the main road.
Modern drainage: Arrangement of storm drainage for road surfaces and backwater.
Infrastructure for pedestrians and passengers: Construction of pedestrian areas and pairs of bus stops.
Safety equipment: New traffic signals, traffic equipment, and street lighting in settlements and at bus stops.
Phased implementation of the project
For easier implementation and due to its scope, the route (in the detailed design phase) is divided into three logical stages, which together cover the area from km 1.740 to km 7.660:
Stage Section (km) Key improvements
Stage 1 :1.740 – 3.200 Road reconstruction, improvement of junctions and drainage.
Stage 2 :3.200 – 5.020 Construction of a pair of bus stops, pedestrian areas, and street lighting.
Stage 3: 5.020 – 7.660 Reconstruction to Opatje selo, construction of bus stops (at km 6.100) and lighting.
